Thanks to enthusiastic volunteers of Pentravel and Sage Pay, the transformation at Sibongile Creche in Kayamandi continues.
So far, the creche has seen a fresh coat of paint to the interior and exterior of the Creche's classroom, and exterior of the main Trauma Center, and the playground has been improved with a new jungle gym for the kids.
This volunteer program included another energizing morning painting activity that turned the dark pink walls into a lighter, more neutral and open soft beige. As there were only 2 hours, we managed to do a double coat of paint on the nursery, but just that little touch makes such a difference.
More renovations to the room will be done on the 3rd May in another corporate volunteer opportunity and progress will continue the whole year through until the much needed plumbing is fixed, all the walls are sealed and painted with a fresh coat of paint, the feeding hall is renovated so that it is hygienic, the kitchen's storage is rodent and cockroach protected, the playground is child friendly, and the trauma center and early child development center have all the maintenance needs covered so they can continue the wonderful work that they do.
