At Realistic Child and Youth Care Centre (CYCC) in Athlone, 31 boys aged 3 to 17 now have a revitalized space to call home, thanks to an incredible partnership with The Foschini Group (TFG). Through the Call 2 Restore initiative, we successfully upgraded all 12 bedrooms and the soccer pitch, creating a safer, more comfortable, and inspiring environment for these young boys.

About Realistic CYCC
Realistic CYCC is a vital safe haven for vulnerable children, providing holistic care, education, and emotional support to boys who have faced neglect, abandonment, or hardship. The centre offers a structured environment where the boys can grow, learn, and heal, supported by a dedicated team of child and youth care professionals. By ensuring a stable, nurturing environment, Realistic CYCC plays a crucial role in shaping brighter futures for these children and giving them the opportunities they deserve.

A Community Effort: The People Behind the Project
This initiative was made possible through the dedication and hard work of:
65 TFG Volunteers who gave their time and energy
31 Children who benefit from the improved facilities and toiletry kits.
22 Realistic CYCC Staff who provide ongoing care and support
9 Call 2 Care Facilitators who ensured seamless coordination
3 Cape Netting Team Assistants who professionally upgraded the soccer pitch
A heartfelt thank you to Jordanâs Way of Cooking for preparing a delicious lunch of burgers and boerewors rolls for all 130 participants, ensuring that everyone had the energy to enjoy this special day! đđ

Our Relationship with Realistic CYCC & Our Commitment to Support
Call 2 Care has been working with Realistic CYCC for the past six months, forming a strong relationship built on shared values of care, empowerment, and transformation. Our journey with them began during the Christmas Drive in 2023, where we facilitated an initiative to ensure that every child at the centre received a Christmas present filled with toys, treats, and essentials, making the holiday season special and memorable. Since then, we have remained committed to supporting Realistic CYCC through impactful projects that enhance their living spaces and provide the boys with the tools they need to grow, heal, and thrive. By strengthening this partnership, we aim to continuously contribute to the well-being of the children and create a lasting, positive impact on their lives.

A Collective Thank You

Through Call 2 Restore, we continue to prove that collaboration drives impact. Together, we build stronger communities, one project at a time. đâ¨
